April 25, 2013
Have you ever heard be careful what you wish for?  Well I hadn't.  I said I needed a vacation.  It wasn't a wish but I got one any way.  It was not exactly what I wanted but relaxing and stressful at the same time.  Last Wednesday after noon Jim said we are going for a ride Oden.  Yahoo, yippee, let's go.  I got in the car and off we went.  Jim didn't seem too happy about the ride but I was having a great time.  I sat up in the car and watched everything.  I wasn't even feeling sick.  We drove to the vets office.  I hadn't been there in a while so I was happy to go in and see friends.  I marched in just happy as I could be.  All was well until Jim picked me up and gave me a squeeze and said you be good Oden, I'll miss you.
Some man took me and I went back to my room.  It was OK, I'd been there before.  Everyone treats you like your  king.  I got walks and hugs and scratches.   I really missed Jim though.
What seemed like  a couple of minutes or days I'm not good with time, I got a bath and Jim was back.  yipeeeeeee.  Jim picked me up and scratched me and hugged me.  Into the truck and head home.  We made a couple of stops on the way.  The big thing here.  I did not get sick in the car.  I have been working hard on that and it looks like it's working.

What a good night I had.  I stuck close to Jim and got to sleep in my own bed.  Jim thinks it's his so I just let him keep thinking that, it makes him happy.

The next day I got to go down to the Paddock.  What do you think, a new friend, Rosie shows up.  She's younger than I am.  We played wrestled and talked to each other.  Rosie is great fun, I hope she comes back again.

                                                                        ROSIE

When Jim was gone he went and saw his son, Brian and his grandson, Jimmy.  Jim kept telling me about  Jimmy.  Yea he's cute. Can he lick people, can he jump on Jim's lap, does he know how to bark.  Does he even have a tail to wag when he is happy to see Jim?  None of the above.  I'm not quite sure what the big deal is.  Jimmy can't even give dogs a scratch on the head.

I didn't get back to writing more about new and old friends very fast but a lot has happened.  I'll catch up now
Thursday April 11 Jim got home late and said something about SCCA his here and I got to go with him tomorrow.  I was excited I got to go with him.  I jumped up and down only to have Jim say not until tomorrow Oden.  Geez o Petes, If I'm not going right away don't say anything, I'm a dog I don't know tomorrow from yesterday or today.  Jim is just going to have to learn that.  Maybe I could work out a deal with him less barking for don't say go unless we are.

Friday morning Jim was up early.  I, Oden wisely got a belly rub and then went back to sleep for a while.  I finally got up, Jim got ready and off we went.  We were at the gate talking to everyone.  It was a cold day so I stayed in the truck a lot.  Not very long after we got there my nose went to work, and it works very well, and I caught a sent of a friend I haven't seen in a long time,  Enzo and Shadow were somewhere near!
I started barking  so Jim would let me out of the truck.  He did and there they were my friends I hadn't seen in a long time.                         ENZO
He has calmed down since last I saw him, but we had a great time.

Shortly after that I saw Porsche, a really pretty retired Greyhound.  She doesn't come over to visit but gives me a glance as she walks by.

I'm not sure what day but I met Powder, Georga, Sugar Plum Ellie and Zoey that weekend they all stoppend and played.  It was great fun.  I was going to  put each name under each of my friends but I am a dog and don't know how to do that so I asked Jim.  Apparently he's not the genius I thought so I have to just lis them going down
POWDER, SUGAR PLUM, GEORGIA, ELLIE AND ELLIE AND ZOEY.  I think I got them right but if not let me know.  (remember I'm a dog and I remember with my nose more than my eyes and this is not smell o computer.)
I really thought after this weekend I need a vacation.

April 16, 2013
What a weekend I had.  I met old friends and new ones.  Jim was at the gate for SCCA so I had to work also.  He gets signatures and I am the official greeter.
I have some great pictures of my friends but no time right now.  I'll post the pictures and names later today or probably tomorrow.

Whew, I'm one busy dog.  I think I'll ask Jim if I can go on vacation.

April 2, 2013
Yesterday was April Fools day.  What a day, (can someone tell me what it is).
This morning the sun was shining when I got up.  That meant Jim opened the door so I could play outside and go in and out when I wanted.  I took 2 of my toys out and had a great time.  The only small problem was when I was barking at a truck.  Jim rang the bell, which means he wants to see me right away.  I came running so he could tell me no barking.  (I know I've discussed this with him before, I've been a dog longer than him so I know when to bark.  Humans are hard to train.)

Another small thing I'm going to discuss, why don't humans learn dog, we dogs learn human.  I would think it's only fare.  At night I talk to Jim and he talks back in dog.  The problem, he does't make any sense.  I say I'd like to go outside to do business and he says back to me, what color are you and why do you have such big ears.  Makes no sense to me.  One time he asked me why I weighed 80 pounds.  80 pounds?  Not in my best dream, wet and caring my self 5 times I wouldn't weigh 80 pounds.

I'm going outside again.

March 20, 2013
Yesterday evening when Jim got home he let me out and then sat outside.  He told me it was sure nice to sit out here when it was raining.  RAINING!!!!!!  I think I know what that is.  It's when stuff falls out of sky on to me.  Rain is like taking a slow bath!  Well I had to go out and do my business and sure enough stuff was falling on me.  I kept looking  up to see where it was coming from but never could figure that out

This morning Jim told me it was hard to see the computer screen through ears.  That's the price he pays for being my owner.  It's comfortable to sit on his lap and look out the window.

What a nice day. Jim isn't putting on white clothes so I think he might be around more than the last two days.
Jim has been doing something on the other side of the fence for a few days.  When he does that he lets me stay outside.  It's good he lets me be there because I can supervise him and make sure he is doing it right.  I supervise him by barking at him even though I have no idea what he is doing, but I make sure he knows I'm telling him all about it.

I don't know if I told you but Jim drives this 4 wheeled off road thing when he is working.  Sometimes he takes me for a ride.  The first couple of times I was a little concerned but I got comfortable on it.  Now it is one of my favorite things to do.  I sit on Jim's lap and let the wind blow in my face.  yahoo.

A cold and grey Monterey day.  Sounds like I've heard the first part before.
Jim gets after me when I start barking.  Again I'm a dog and I know when to bark and when not to.  I am a smart dog so I'll cut back on the barking when Jim says to stop, just to make him think he's in charge.
Jim got these great, and I mean great, treats for me.  They are delicious.  As much as I don't like to admit it, Jim is in charge when he has one of those in his hand.  I sit, come, and do what ever he wants me to so he will give it to me.  I need to figure out how to resist them, naaa not going to happen.
The weather has been a couple of good days and a couple of not so good days.
Jim told me to talk about the weather if I didn't have any thing else to say, so I guess I'm done for now.

Isn't this picture terrible, I'm begging for one of the treats.

Catch up

Well it's been foreer since I wrote something here.  I have a lot of catching up to do.  I have details partially written, so I'm going to catch you up in a nutshell and latter give you all the details.
In November Jim decided he was going to leave me.  I went to Ardell's house.  Of course that is where my friend Bert lives.  Since this is the nutshell version, Jim did come back and I really am his.  I was so happy to see him.

This thing Jim called Christmas came and went.  From my point of view it's a good thing.  I got stuff and I got a piece of turkey.  I don't know what turkey is other than good.  I wish I had a bunch of that.

Jim put up a fence so I could excerise  my legs and run with no leash.  It is great.  Sometimes I just get to sit outside and get a suntan, or hair bleach in my case.  The most fun is when Jim want's me to come in and I don't want to.  The chase is on.  It usually end with me getting a piece of cheese to bribe me.

My profile says I'm an 8 month old but I have aged a little, I'm now 18 months but I can't figure out how to change any thing.

Jim became a grandpa. His grandson Jimmy is 1 month old.  What a baby!!!! not like me an old guy.

I'll write more next week so I can stay up with the news.
